ROB MCKECHNEY
Vice President, Operations
Mr. McKechney has well over 20 years of hands-on experience in oil and natural gas exploitation, well completions, production, operations, facilities engineering, design and construction, as well as asset acquisitions and divestitures. He became Vice President, Operations of Open Range in November 2011 after spending the previous period of nearly six years as Engineering Manager of the predecessor company. During this time Mr. McKechney contributed to Open Range’s growth from production of 400 boe per day to 4,400 boe per day at mid-year 2011, amid continually improving cost efficiencies. His functions included key engineering and operational tasks such as construction and two subsequent expansions of the company-operated Ansell/Sundance processing facility that eliminated third-party fees, as well as planning and designing hydraulic fracturing programs for well completions. Prior to joining Open Range Mr. McKechney performed a variety of engineering and operations functions at a succession of companies, among them Starpoint Energy/Starpoint Energy Trust, Elk Point Resources Inc. and Stampeder Exploration Ltd. Mr. McKechney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1990. He is a member of APEGGA.
